Allowing members to edit member title

I would really like to see other ways of allowing users to edit member titles other than post count.

Maybe by usergroups? Join date?

Same goes with avatars. I made a thread earlier about avatars but I received no replies.
I just don't see why profile image size can be edited by usergroups but not avatars or member titles.

I'm trying to give my members the ability to purchase a bigger avatar limit or the ability to edit member titles via Subscriptions but it won't work the way it currently is. (Also to allow Moderators and higher groups to do so)

you can allow by usergorups...

this means first do not allow ... then promote them in another group that can change member title with no restriction... :)

or maybe you could on previous versions, but I had the impression you can set that for each group...
no, is just a general setting, you are right about that

Yes you can allow members to change there titles themselfs.

To do it go in to go in to System->Tools & Settings->System Settings->Members->User Profiles

3rd option down says:-

Number of posts a member must have before allowing them to change their member title?

And just change the number to what you want it to be.

Edited to add, the only other way is to write up a hook of which will work on member groups instead.

Yes you can allow members to change there titles themselfs.

It would be nice to be able to configure some things via member groups -vs- board wide. Avatars, member titles, signature size, ability to use html and/or bbCode in signatures, etc.

I know, I re-read the post just after I posted it and edited it a minute later. LOL

I am working on another small hook this evening, but I will look in to creating a hook too that will allow stuff like member group being able to edit member titles, signuture sizes, ability to use html/bbcode in signuture etc.

What I might do is to have it upgradeable. So if anybody else asks for that feature, it could be added to the next version of the hook. It might take me a few days to get it done, because I have got a busy weekend with me not being at home so I might not finish it until next week.

I support this too, one of the perks of being a Donator was being able to change member title.

I've found that allowing my members to change their member title once they hit, say, 100 posted messages, that they can change their member title ... it helps promote forum activity and forum participation.
