Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted July 8, 200915 yr Hey guys, I am a assistant root admin at a forum. We have a BIG problem. Most, if not all, forums are unreadable to members. We've set the permissions for the category, the forum, and everything at least 15 times now, and it doesn't have any effect. Clearly we're doing something wrong, or.., what's going on?! Staff members can access the forums, but regular members cannot view any topics. In fact, on one of them, it just shows the header and footer -- nothing in between. What's going on?!
July 8, 200915 yr Author I cannot submit a ticket because I do not have IPS Credentials, my Root Admin does...but he's offline atm and this is a very urgent issue.
July 8, 200915 yr It's almost certainly not a bug, or else we'd have the problem here, and the IPS staff would be flooded with tickets from others having this same problem. You're going to need to have the root admin submit a ticket for this.
July 8, 200915 yr Author Well...It would be hours before he can submit a ticket. Anyone know why? The exact error is: [#103137] You do not have permission to view this topic.
July 8, 200915 yr As they have already said you need to tell your root admin to submit a support ticket, we are not allowed to give support in the feedback area.
July 8, 200915 yr Management I would imagine that for whatever reason, permissions have been removed for the member groups.
July 8, 200915 yr Author All the permissions are in-tact. I've gone through to Member Groups > Manage User Permissions and all the permissions are set correctly. Any other places to check?
July 8, 200915 yr Then, as has been said several times already, the license holder is going to have to open a ticket. We members can't help you in this forum.
July 8, 200915 yr I'm afraid, as has been suggested, you will need to have the account owner submit a ticket. :)
