Jυra Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 If IPS had a real CMS product, would we no longer be able to mention or link to other CMS software like Wordpress, etc?
superstrikertwo Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Why wouldn't you be able to? We can mention vB, MyBB, PhpBB, ect...

Mark H. Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Personally, I think comparing IPS' prohibition about discussing competing hosts, to discussing any competing software products like a CMS, is like comparing apples and oranges. Two very different things. True, IPS cannot compete against the largest hosts for simple bandwidth and storage space. But then they don't *try* to. And those other hosts don't offer an IPB license (WITH installation and Support specific to it) as a component of their hosting packages, whereas IPS does.

The only issue we have with hosting is people saying "which host should I use?" - it's not really appropriate for us to entertain recommendations for our competitors ;) But, discussing other products, comparing feature sets and so on is fine :)
