is openid in 2.36?

i am a bit behind in he news, but can we use openid with current 2.36?



i found that thread, now it would be nice to allow openid users to be installed as validating users until they allow their identity to be inserted into the database.

this way it does away with a user having to sign-up to 1 millions of forums each time just to find some information.

of course spambots needs to be validated as always :P

No, OpenID isn't available in 2.3.6, OpenID wasn't added until the 3.x series.

can we have openid in 2.36?? seems like version 3 will take another 6 months to be ready !! and i thought version 3 was in the planning for years and would take at most 3 months !!

I personally don't see them as adding OpenID to 2.3.6 because IPB 3.0 is just around the corner and then 2.3.6 will basically be obsolete.

We have no plans to spend time adding features to the 2.3 series presently.

I did however post an openid login module for 2.3 on the resources site many months ago. We also posted a blog about it at the time I believe. This was before we even started on 3.0.
