Zepher
Don't you think it would be great to adopt to OpenID for PMD sites. Many sites like zoho have started to adopt this method. Currently IPB Visitors can sign-up for a account taking time to fill the online application, but if they stumble upon a IPB site, a momentary curiosity/interest arises checks to see how to signup then they will see the option to login using their google/msn/yahoo accounts and voila!!! no need to remember one more password & They will surely sign-in. I know IPB 3 has a facebook login but I'm wondering what other OpenID methods or APIs IPB could utilize. ----> Google APIhttp://code.google.com/apis/accounts/docs/OpenID.html Yahoohttp://developer.yahoo.com/openid/

Zepher
That's great! Integration/Ease of Use is Key. Really helps if you are using multiple products in a Content Management Solution (CMS). I'm using a directory script that is going to use OpenID and am glad to see IPB is already on point.

Mat Barrie
just gave it a go but it keeps on saying it can't verify me. I'm using the yahoo identifier URL http://openid.yahoo.com ....... That's not the identifier URL. Your identifier URL needs to be enabled with Yahoo for a start, and when it is the URL will be something like https://me.yahoo.com/yourusername or https://me.yahoo.com/sgfb3fh3w4fiwuhfiuwh4fiugf
FCB-Mo
OK, well i went and got my me.yahoo.com identifier URL and it still won't work. Apparently my username and password are incorrect despite the fact i'm fully logged in at Yahoo and i said continue on that Yahoo open ID page. Mat Barrie
How do you get the identifier URL for google? The web site obtains it when you go to log in, by retrieving https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/id. You're out of luck if you're using Google Apps. When you use openid you don't submit your username and password to us, so if you're getting a message that either is incorrect that must be on yahoo's side
