Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted March 7, 200915 yr I'm not sure if I'm missing it or maybe it's not a feature. But we have the reputation system built in and I thought it should be basic to have a feature similar to "Find members posts" & "Find Members Topics". So "Find Posts Given Rep". Very useful for myself when I see my number go up so I can view what exact post a member liked of mine. Same goes for members browsing my profile is that they can go read all my posts that I was given rep for to determine the quality or type of person I am. Ideally, I would like to see it separated with view negative reps and view positive reps, but I'm willing to settle for view rep'd posts just to get the enhancement in. For example, I have 1 Rep but I have no clue as to what post that was rep'd or even how to find it. It could be a post from 4 years ago or maybe one from yesterday. Again, unless I am missing something and overlooked a feature that may already be present, please let me know if I have or do you agree with my point of view if it's not a current feature?
March 7, 200915 yr +1 from me, actually I have 5 positive rep but no idea from which posts this reputation value come.
March 9, 200915 yr This is the first release with the reputation system. We'll be looking at ideas to enhance it in the next big release. We were wary of showing too much with reputation on the front end (to try to save some of the "retaliation" that will inevitably occur), but it should be ok to show which posts have been repped, even if we don't show who did it.
March 17, 200915 yr I think it would be nice to have these options in ACP so that there wont be a reason for retaliation. I'm sure bfarber can whip this up in less than 5 minutes and use this site as a preview for it to gauge feedback. You can do it! :PShow posts that user has been given rep y/nThis will enable a link in profile, post view and other areas to quickly find posts that a user has been given + or - rep for. Show who has given rep in footer of posts y/nThis will show who has given positive reps only in the footer of the posts. Negative reps will be treated anonymous and are not shown.

March 20, 200915 yr I do like this idea of extending the functionality of the reputation system a little more (although as Brandon has said, probably something for a future release) :) +1 from me anyway :)

March 21, 200915 yr A pop-up like the who voted one would be far prettier than showing a bunch of usernames at the bottom of each post that's been +repped. Could not agree more with that.
March 22, 200915 yr A pop-up like the who voted one would be far prettier than showing a bunch of usernames at the bottom of each post that's been +repped. Could not agree more with that.Well atleast we are all in agreement that the function should be extended. I like the tooltip idea you guys just mentioned. That indeed will keep it inline with all the other new features on the board.
March 23, 200915 yr +5 :D A pop-up like the who voted one would be far prettier than showing a bunch of usernames at the bottom of each post that's been +repped. I agree. ps typo on the subtitle of this thread.
April 6, 200915 yr Well it appears to be unanimous and we all agree. I hope that this becomes a reality sooner than later and not put off for a major upgrade?Well it appears to be unanimous and we all agree. I hope that this becomes a reality sooner than later and not put off for a major upgrade?
April 6, 200915 yr Sounds like it could be a pretty good candidate for a module ... since the post and rep data is in the database, it should be reasonable easy to create a module that returns "top 10 repped posts" per user, per whole board, per forum, etc"...
April 6, 200915 yr I can say we won't be making feature changes to the reputation system at this stage of 3.0.0. Your feature may or may not show up in a later version.
April 10, 200915 yr To be fair about it, when someone votes positive for a post, have their name displayed beneath that post. Sort of like "Thanks By:"
April 11, 200915 yr Very nice reputation are a very good things* which are found in forums reputation shows what people thing of you ...if you own a vbulletin like me of you want to add a person or decrease someone reputation you have to give a reason and vbulletin i type words that are not useful the decline it vbulletin is quite smart but when i looked at invision power board i doubt vbulletin is gonna lagg behind
April 11, 200915 yr To be fair about it, when someone votes positive for a post, have their name displayed beneath that post. Sort of like "Thanks By:" Already suggested in this thread, and I think what I suggested earlier in this thread would be better than having tons of usernames cluttering the bottom of each post.
April 13, 200915 yr How about dim the background and text for those posts with low rank? I saw this feature on engadgethd.com http://www.engadgethd.com/2009/04/10/time-warner-cable-lays-out-broadband-capping-plans-says-150-fo/#readercomments Sroll down to the 6th post.
