Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted November 28, 200816 yr For the future, I'd (and plenty of others /original.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />)' /> would like the ability to easily restore a topic or deleted post. There should be a Restore button or something similar that will place the topic or post back into it's original place.
November 30, 200816 yr Use the trash can feature, and only turn it on for you. That's helps with restoring topics, but its much harder to merge deleted posts back into their topics as-is. Keith
November 30, 200816 yr That's helps with restoring topics, but its much harder to merge deleted posts back into their topics as-is. Keith Using the Trashcan feature. It will give the Topic ID of any single posts removed from a topic. You can then select all the posts or the one single post and just merge it back to the original topic by using the Move Posts which will ask you the TOPIC ID and bobs your uncle... Or am I miss understanding something...
December 4, 200816 yr Yes, I understand the manual way to do it  . I requested a restore button.
December 5, 200816 yr Mmm. I remember once where this would have been a good idea to have when a hacker got into a staff account and wrecked havoc by completely deleteing an entire forum's topics. It actually doesn't sound too bad to implement database wise. Yet, I can see potential abuse of this. Maybe best left as a mod, although I might look into making this one (do not hold me to that).
