Jaggi
lots of work has been done to reduce the load caused by stuff in ipb3.0 especially the SEO and although certain things will cause load increases i doubt the difference will as extreme as you posted and they also won't be such spikes. You can of course turn off SEO in ipb3 if you see a big problem. Seeing as optimisation and code profiling is still going on i can't really say what the results have been till ips is ready to disclose them. bfarber
You must have added one of the current modifications to use "SEO" (by which I assume you mean friendly urls). Both of the ones I am aware of work on top of the page, rather than within it. That is to say, they take the entire page HTML, and then make replacements on the links within the page. The way OUR friendly url system works is inline, which is (naturally) much more efficient. Still, you can always shut it off if you don't wish to use it. :)

I dream about those friendly urls for a long time
