After a while the cost add up. With a shopping cart capability owners of these boards can offer related merchandise. With more money in the hands of owners the more likely that they will continue to pay-up IPS license fees. Members of these boards will also have the opportunity to contribute in the form of buying available merchandise. If Nexus is about billing then it will be more suited for businesses offering services...the cart will help smaller communities who wish to have small online stores. After all, aren't we customers of IPB all using a paid forum software for the better quality, the support, and such? If you want a free or cheap modification, don't expect support on it, and don't expect it to be upgraded with any future version upgrades. However, with a paid modification, I'd expect upgrades that are released either on or shortly after the date of a version upgrade from IPB. Aside from that, would the built-in subscription manager work for this for you at all? I use that to collect donated funds from my members. Your discussion was not about MetalAxe, it was about something for IP.Board 3. Saying what you feel about the prices on another website just seems a bit wrong, kind of like stabbing in the back. Other posters made reference to mods and how can one talk about a cart without talking about price? It is not uncommon for discussions here to take a different route, so this topic is by no means different.Your discussion was not about MetalAxe It was about a cart and metalaxe makes cart. ;) IPS provide excellent product/services but they are not charging such a ridiculous price as metalaxe for a single component that is in beta.
