Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted August 14, 200816 yr 1. Full functionally in the ACP: custom fields, required/not required field. 2. Support for reCAPTCHA. 3. The "(?)" thing is something minor, but I would suggest making it maybe a CSS button, so when I register I can tab from field to field without jumping to the "(?)". 3. "Password Strength" checking with password suggestions also. 4. And one more suggestion not related to the registration: If you post a topic and a few moments later you try to post the same topic with the same title and body, it will tell you that you already have posted a topic like that. (This is available in vBulletin)
August 24, 200816 yr UPDATES: I wanted to update suggestion number 3, instead of the "(?)" thing, while typing there would be a popup based AJAX that will explain what that field is. Like this: http://www.dhtmlgoodies.com/scripts/form-f...ld-tooltip.html And I would like to request for a security cause that using a password same as the username will be unallowed by default! I hope you will consider adding these great suggestions. :)
August 24, 200816 yr For the (?) here is a nice effect http://www.newspond.com/register/ (Type something in the field or leave the field empty and put the mouse on another one).
August 24, 200816 yr For the (?) here is a nice effect http://www.newspond.com/register/ (Type something in the field or leave the field empty and put the mouse on another one). I like that!
August 24, 200816 yr For the (?) here is a nice effect http://www.newspond.com/register/ (Type something in the field or leave the field empty and put the mouse on another one). WOW, nice one. ;) Is it kind of a script or it's a self built site? I really liked the design. It could be better if the confirm button would be unclickable untill you fill out all the fields correctly.
August 25, 200816 yr Is it kind of a script or it's a self built site? I really liked the design. It's a custom made website, they use YUI to obtain some of the effects. Look at the Log In form from the top right, would be nice if IP.Board could have something like that.
August 26, 200816 yr Look at the Log In form from the top right, would be nice if IP.Board could have something like that. That looks really nice, but isn't that hard to do it yourself. IPB 3 makes use of the Prototype Libary (I suppose script.aculo.us is also used) so you can do that just with editing the template ;)
September 29, 200816 yr +1 would love to have recaptcha support. http://recaptcha.net/ Suggestion for the Posting screen, have the Submit/Send button greyed out when it is clicked on to avoid duplicate posts!
