allow to post announcements like posts

Announcements aren't the same thing as posts/topics, they can go in multiple forums, they don't have replies, they just have a title instead of both a title and description, you can't make polls in them, you can't attach files to them, etc. Why should they be posted the same way as posts or topics when they don't behave the same way?

Michael you still have to go to ur control panel to edit the announcement.

Why not have those edit buttons be visible under announcements anywhere > then > just click n edit it, instead of going to my controls.

OR

Have another moderator function in that drop down list under a post the moderator is seeing.
like POST THIS TOPIC AS ANNOUNCEMENT

with maybe furthur 2 more options of apply changes to only this announcement or to all announcements posted wherever,

Why shouldnt they be ?

Thinking the same thing it would make it much easier.
Like in the menu where it has pin this topic had the option of have this as an announcement.
That way you would have all the features Micheal said were missing.

  • 2 weeks later...

Or if the announcement is like just pinning a topic, with extra advanced option saying

display this post / announce in > then a box showing all forums that can be selected.
Soething like when we set permissions for a forum and we can highlight admin, members, guests, banned etc.
