Yaroslav
i attention that every version that released have their mods so i thought why don't make a something like Mods installer (for example: all programs of 98 work on xp and even on vista) so why just don't make a option that will activate the mod in special mode and will matched himself to the new code.. something like that. and will run without hung on the current code. thats very useful.. but the question is it possible? Jaggi
because that would require bazillions of lines of legacy code, you never wonder why vista needs 4gb to install?
henke37
There already is a legacy mode for old mods. But a mod installer is much more likely in v 3 given that there will be hooks and stuff to make it easy to apply mods. Well, more often at least. Alex
Yeah but that legacy mode is from 2..x to 2.2+, not from 2.x to 3.x, that would need a hell of work
Jaggi
the mods will need rewriting in ipb3 much like the change from ipb2 to 2.1. The legacy mode only can run a certain amount of things but ipb3 is alot more different that ipb 2 was from 2.1.
