sparc Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 wonder if something like this made it into 3.0. The private message system really needed some work in the search and navigation areas.

peter_anderson Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 You can search PMs in IPB3 :) Great :)
TCWT Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 :) Should add this to under Personal Messenger Options under Board SettingsDo you wish to put all sent PMs in your Sent folder by default? Do you wish to track all sent PMs by default?
FrostedPopTart Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 You can search PMs in IPB3 :) Thank god, I was hoping this would be included. Many of the members on my forum love to PM each other, so this well help a lot. :)
Cool Surfer Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 yes there should be search feature for this + RSS feeds in admincp also.
Management Matt Posted October 14, 2008 Management Posted October 14, 2008 :) Should add this to under Personal Messenger Options under Board Settings Do you wish to put all sent PMs in your Sent folder by default? Do you wish to track all sent PMs by default? These options are a little redundant now. There are "magic" folders, one of which is "My Conversations" which contains all conversations you started (or PMs you sent, if you prefer that vernacular). This is done automatically. Tracking PMs is no longer required. When you view any conversation, the users participating in the conversation are listed along with their last read times.

But does it list when each message inside the conversation was read or just the last clicked time?
Management Matt Posted October 15, 2008 Management Posted October 15, 2008 It has that ability. We've just not figured out how to skin it in. You could look at the time the user last read it and pretty much work it out for yourself.
FF1987 Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 What about the old PM's? Will they be converted to the new system when you upgrade from 2.x to 3.x?

The Old Man Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Thanks for adding the search facility for your own PM's! That's a good question though, what about your old PM's? I have about 1000 I want to keep.
