Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted April 27, 200816 yr Hi, When IP.Board is used in an intranet context, RSS Import will usually fail since most businesses enforce the use of a web proxy for Internet access, which also often requires user credentials. I'd love to see proxy support come with either a dot release of v2.3 or in the upcoming v3 of IPB. Ian
April 28, 200816 yr I don't see how it would not import? Usually it just pulls data from the RSS URL, and imports it. Are you talking about if the RSS Feed is in the intranet and is protected that the auth types need to be updated, or that the actual importing is disallowed, I don't see how if the RSS is not protected? >_<

The server running IPB is on our internal network, on the inside of our firewall/proxy. The server running the RSS feed is on the outside, on the Internet. The only way to get from the inside to the outside is via an authenticating http proxy and this scenario isn't currently supported for the RSS import function, Ian
