Upload Profile Photo at registration

Add a feature to IP.Board to allow new registers to upload profile photo at registration. Also a radio button "Use as avatar too?" Both will be resized based on board settings. Admin can make it a required field too cut down on absentee photos/avatars. Or can add extra radio button "Skip this step>>>" for those who don't have a photo handy at time o registration.

I disagree. I do not want any uploads until the account is validated and then I approve the account.

It's optional even though I didn't clearly indicate that above you can enable it in the acp if wish to allow users to upload or choose avatar upon registration. For the people that are very security minded I wouldn't think you would enable the option if you are manually approving members.

Another option is if validation is enabled, then after successful validation user is presented with avatar upload/chooser page instead of being directed to the "You are currently not logged in page".

To take it even another step an option could be added in to "review" users uploaded profile pic before going live whether it be at registration or at anytime during the members membership term.

I like this - however, I think a better option would be when you authenticate your account (or if no authentication is required, as soon as the account is created) there is a section on the screen that says something like "Would you like to configure your profile now?" which, if the user selects yes, takes them to a page where they can configure their profile, about me, signature, avatar, photo, etc. (or if that is too complicated, just the normal User CP)

I agree with the professor! :)

I've always liked the idea of being redirected to a 'splash' page after authenticating a new account. It could welcome you to the forums, point to the board guidelines, and obviously as mentioned, tempt the user into filling out their profile. I'd also customize the welcome message to link to my Introductions forum, and encourage the new user to introduce themselves.

I agree too, but remeber some of these items are separated into different sections right now would need IPS to combine them or add steps to profile completion such as "step one>>>proceed to next step" "Profile 100% Complete"

Something like that. If they and atleast redirect to profile update that would be good start.
