i am java
I sent an e-mail to where it says to, but I received no reply (it has been about 15 hours.) How long does it usually take? (It took only a few hours last time I did it.)
i am java
Um, I just have some questions regarding your webhosting: 1. Will I have access to a database (such as MySQL or phpMyAdmin) 2. Will I be able to edit the PHP in the IP.Board that I get with the web hosting? 3. Can my website that I host include flash for my web pages? Thanks

idav
They are all probably off somewhere goading Keith to do things that aren't good for his health.

Wondering Soul
Question 1: Yes, depending on what package you choose, the amount of databases you will have will change. You also have access to phpMyAdminQuestion 2: No. The version of IP.Board that comes with the hosting packages is encoded and will not allow the editing of source files. If you want to edit them, you need to buy an IP.Board license too.Question 3: You can upload most file-types to the server but for specifics, just wait for their response. Hope that helps :)
i am java
It does, thanks :) But I wanted to integrate my IP.Board's login/registration system with a CBox and some other stuff. Is that not possible?
Wondering Soul
It does, thanks :) But I wanted to integrate my IP.Board's login/registration system with a CBox and some other stuff. Is that not possible? :) As for the Cbox, there is one available for IP.Board as a modification but installing it requires edits to three or so files which are encoded unless you have the full version. So, for full integration with such systems, you would really require the un-encoded version.
i am java
That's lame... well then, the IP.Board that I get with the hosting probably won't ever be used. Maybe I will just rent it out to someone then? Thanks :P
wickedfpoop
Fraid not. The version that comes with your hosting package will only work on our servers and anyone that has an IPS Hosting account would have that version of the board as well (unless they've actually purchased a standard license). To modify any of the source code, you would have to purchase a license as mentioned. You can use the license on your IPS Hosting account with no problem. And, if you've emailed the sales department and haven't gotten a response yet, send another email. The first may have been marked as spam accidentally so you may want to put a non generic title in there so it isn't viewed as spam. :) But, I wouldn't spam them. lol
i am java
Nah, what I would do is let whoever use my board for like $2 a month or something...
Mark
Just a note, if it's *just* log in required, you may be able to use the external log in method to authenticate via another system without file edits.
i am java
To be honest, that made no sense to me...
Mat Barrie
There's a feature of IP.Board allowing you to tell the board that you want to use a different application to handle logins. I think that's what he means.
i am java
Oh, I guess. I will have to talk with my friend. Anyways, I think I will keep my IP.Boad that I get with it. I can't run a business when I am using InvisionFree. (The stupid servers are almost always down...) IP servers are always up, right? Oh, and what does the CSS, etc., look like? Mat Barrie
The board you're looking at (this one) is the default skin. You can (even on the encoded version you get with your package) install whatever you want in terms of skins (with exceptions of any that require file edits, such as "tabbed" skins). They're up as much as possible and I'm sure there's an SLA since you're paying for the service.
i am java
One last thing before I buy: will I be able to get a domain name with IP, or do I have to get one seperately? Edit: actually, I think i am going to go my original plan: Use 110mb (a free host) and then just buy a domain name. I mean, yes, the IP.Board is really nice, but I have $54 to get a flash template for my site, and get a host with :( Maybe someday in the future I will go with IP hosting!
