elzaeed
Can I please be included into the customers group, since I am actually a customer. Or have I misunderstood completely, and holding an IP.Board lifetime licence doesn't qualify me? Thank you. Kind regards
zigs
Use the same email as in the client centre and log out then log back in
elzaeed
Use the same email as in the client centre and log out then log back in That hasn't worked. Could that be because I haven't used the client area for a number of years. Now logging back in I’ve updated all my details, including changing my registered email address. In fact my website has been down for some years now, and I’ve just started a new project. The licence was purchased in 2003 (five years ago). I have been away from the scene so I don't know what's changed during that time. Thank you for your response none the less. I do appreciate it. stoo2000
The Customer Group is only for customers with current active support contracts (this includes new licenses).
elzaeed
The Customer Group is only for customers with current active support contracts (this includes new licenses). I don't remember this being the case when I was here some years ago. So does that mean since my licence is 5 years old I'm not a customer, well at least not with a "current active support contract?" Thank you. Kind regards
stoo2000
Unless you've renewed your License recently (http://www.invisionpower.com/community/board/purchase.html) you will not be placed in the customer group. Since you were on here long ago, the license terms have changed and are no longer Life Time/Perpetual licenses. There is more information on the above link. If you have a Life Time/Perpetual license you still have access to the updates/upgrades but not too the P2P Customer Support forums or Techincal Support. Hmm... So these forums are useless for me. I see. Thank you for the clarification. Kind regards

Wrong! A lifetime license is not a perpetual license, they are both significantly different kettles of fish. A perpetual license entitled you to 1 year support (renewable) and upgrades forever. A lifetime license entitled you to both support and upgrades forever. It also definitely (and I mean this) definitely gives you lifetime access to the customer forums. A perpetual only does for as long as your support is valid.
bfarber
Kyanar is right. We appreciate people attempting to help out, but be sure you have all the information straight first. :P If Al-Saeed does indeed have a "lifetime" license, he has access to the customer areas of our sites. Al-Saeed, if you are using the same email address to login to these forums as you do for the client area, try logging out and back in. If that does not fix the issue for you, please submit a ticket in your client area and we'll fix your account. :) As noted, you DO need to have an active support contract to gain access to the customer-only areas of the site, however if you have a lifetime license, you have lifetime support. stoo2000
My Bad, was always getting confused with the Life Time/Perpetual Licenses. I've got a perpetual that's where the confusion is.
bfarber
Yes, I understand. There is indeed a difference between the two (and perpetual is much more common than lifetime).
Mat Barrie
Good thing I upped that $199 just before you whipped that option away from us!
