"Taking Over" function for new Boardsoftware

Hello,

first i have to excuse myself, for an eventually bad english...i hope for consideration!

Now my proposion for the new software.

My proposion is a kind of "Taking Over function" for the new Boardsoftware. I try to explain with an example:

I draw up a new Thread. The Thread does have a statistic (ranking list) for hardware benchmarks (3D Mark) in the first post. Everyone is posting in this thread but suddenly - i am in holidays. Everyone is waitung for an update. But i'm away...i can't update the ranking list, and there's no admin or something like that, who fixes the problem - updates the list.

This "away" problem, can also a rise, if the person who is competent for the thread, is banned!

The POSSIBLE answer can be this "taking over" function! I can give all the rights (rights, not laws, right? [ :) ]) to another member of the board (is the word "forum" also right?), that this person can edit my post (all the posts i "gave" to him), to write into it!

A frequent kind of thread, where i have to watch to this kind of problem, are news threads. Anyone who is now banned, had created a thread and had posted the new news in the topic details. Then anyone is posting new news into that thread, but the news in the topic details, are old. For example threads for hardware drivers (graphics cards). I post the news "Driver V2.0 released". But in the Topic details stands "Driver V1.9 released" and no one knows that the real news are that the "Driver V2.0" is released.

I hope you can understand everything and its written clear...

Daniel

Sum up version: You want a feature that allows other users that you specify to edit specific topics/posts.

Essentially you could also "Wikize" a post. The problem I see with this is the post/topic is still tied to the original starters name. Who ever you gave access to the post/topic would be able to make "you" say anything.

Not exactly. I want a feature that allows me to specify who can edit my posts or rather other users to specify who can edit them posts.

EDIT: Sorry that's what you said...i didn't read right...

Yes you're right, but you can include that it's displayed from which user the post originally come from...maybe that's possible like that it's displayed when you edited a post or something else.
