[Suggestion]BBCodes for Youtube & Google video

Recently, I've been going to back to a anime community website who uses another forum system (I think it's vBulletin) and I've seen a feature which allowed people to post youtube or google videos in their forum posts. I was wondering if this will ever be a feature for IPB in a later release or if there is a way to do this in the current build.

Before anyone tells me to do so, IPSBeyond.com is down and so I can't post nothing there at the moment so Im only left with posting about this here. Sorry if this something that I should not ask here. :(

How do you propose that? Some use flash, while others show the video (avi, mpeg, wmv format). The urls and url structures are different. It would be quite difficult to have a universal video player (outside of coding your own flash loader that could detect and handle the different formats).

The thing is with the custom bbcode manager, I have absolutely no idea how to go about doing this. I'm still a noob at adding my own custom stuff on IPB and as of right now, the only thing I've managed to show with this method is a link to the video Im trying to put into my posts.

Is there anyway you could show an example of how this could be done bfarber?

Actually, I just found a method that was used on what seems to be an older version of IPB but it still works on the current IPB. The only problem I have is putting the youtube button I have next to the code tag button (like whats up above this text box).

I followed the methods at this site: http://novia.com.sg/forums/?showtopic=12501

I wonder if I did something wrong which would result in the small youtube button to not show.
