I experience problemes with the buildt-in backup script. I would love to have an external script, that can take a backup of the database in with various options. Just like GZIP, just backup the essentials tables (to remove components, osv.), maybe use iconv to convert database to UTF-8.

Please take this to consideration. Because I think many wants to just backup the nececcary parts of the forum, and not things they do not need...

Why not just use Cpanel or phpmyadmin to back it up ? :unsure:

Because then you get alot of tables that is not needed.
