Good to have an option to set a date or how many days to automatically close the poll after it's created.

Suggestion: Make that option ("Specify Topic Open/Close Time") configurable by user group. Base Open/Close Time on the local time of the user creating/editing the poll, in 12- or 24-hour clock format. Option to close voting but leave discussion topic open.
