murphzlaw1 Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 When people subscribe to certain threads or forums, they get notified via email. Happens with PMs, too.I have had a few people reply to the email, as if they are replying to the thread or message. How about a line at the bottom of the email that says "Do not reply to this message, as the forum administrator isn't the one who sent it to you" or something. However, I do see the problems, because when an admin DOES send something directly to a member, odds are you want them to reply..so having the "do not reply" could cause an issue...Just throwin it out there for thoughts, really..
bfarber Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 You could easily modify the language files already to add this.
Luke Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 And when they reply, depending on your server panel, you can add an auto reply thing so if they do reply the server can send back a message telling them that no one checks the box, and here is how you contact someone, etc...
sunrisecc Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 And when they reply, depending on your server panel, you can add an auto reply thing so if they do reply the server can send back a message telling them that no one checks the box, and here is how you contact someone, etc...That would be overkill. It is only the board-generated notifications that some users respond to. I do not want my 'error on the forums" email to be auto-responded, for example.
