anyweb
I'm in a dilemma, (apologies in advance if this is in the wrong area... feel free to move it)if I have a problem with my IPB, for example this one > http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?...p;#entry1496515then the advice given is toYou can obtain support via the client area, or you can try to obtain peer-to-peer support at IPS Beyond.I paid for a lifetime license for IPB but decided not to renew the support yearly FEE. Fair enough I thought I'll still be able to post here (or on beyond...) to ask other members for support, but no. When I go to the IPS beyond site I get thisYou appear to be in our Expired Members group. This means that you do not hold a current, active support license for Invision Power Board, Invision Power Gallery, and/or Invision Community Blog. You must hold a support license for one of the above to fully access IPS Beyond. If you feel this is a mistake or need to contact a member of management regarding this (i.e. if you do in fact hold an active license for one of the products, but have somehow been placed in the Expired Members group accidentally) please use the contact form below to notify us.IMPORTANT: If you have JUST purchased IPB and have already signed up for IPS Beyond, please note that most IPB orders are approved within 24 hours of your purchase. If you cannot yet download IPB from your client center because your purchase has not yet been approved, you will not yet have access to this site.and when people post their problems here they are advised to go to ips beyond....so is this normal ? I've paid Invision money for a lifetime licence to their IPB product and I can't even ask others about my problems ???please advise...cheersanyweb
Cherrymenthol
Part of that renewal fee is IPS Beyond access, so you won't be able to use it if you don't have a support license.
anyweb
well that seems unfair to me as I have paid for the product, I like the idea of discussing issues on an open (read free) forum,so does that mean that IPS have removed the ability (freedom) of it's users (customers) from doing this ?cheersanyweb
riven3d
if your support is expired, you do not have a LIFETIME license, most likely you have a perpetual license, there IS a difference
bfarber
Hello,Firstly, if your support is expired as riven pointed out you have a perpetual license, not a lifetime license. There is a difference. We do not allow support topics on these forums - we have official support avenues for customers, and we have IPS Beyond. However, in order to obtain official support, you must have an active support contract. Likewise, in order to access IPS Beyond, which is a perk for our customers with current support contracts, you must have an active support contract. My apologies if this has confused you at all. Antony
Perhaps the issue with access at IPSBeyond that occoured a few days ago hasn't been resolved for lifetime customers?
