Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted July 16, 200717 yr Just read the announcement, does that mean you guys are upgrading to the latest versions of Dynamic and Nexus?
July 16, 200717 yr I thought it would be started as soon as that was posted, but maybe they're still preparing to update since the versions on the site are considered heavily out-dated.
July 16, 200717 yr Management Just read the announcement, does that mean you guys are upgrading to the latest versions of Dynamic and Nexus?Sure does! :)
July 16, 200717 yr The announcement says how long the downtime is, and tells us to do important stuff before the downtime. But it doesn't say when the downtime actually starts.
July 16, 200717 yr Just because they're updating the website doesn't mean a product is going to be released.
July 16, 200717 yr IPD is cominggggggggggggggggg :DI'm just going to say this straight out this time.Shut up.
July 16, 200717 yr IPD is cominggggggggggggggggg :DTurXalim you mind buying me a license too... how long have you waited for this thing? You should atleast get a first beta copy. :P
July 17, 200717 yr Well if they release it the time frame they normally release products, he'll be tucked up in bed.
July 17, 200717 yr Community Expert Management Please report any issues into the Client Center & Website issues tracker.
July 17, 200717 yr I'm just going to say this straight out this time.Shut up.May be they have updated the IPD also :P Sssshhh...
July 18, 200717 yr May be they have updated the IPD also :P Sssshhh...You're not funny, and just because they updated the website, that does not mean IPD is coming any faster.
July 18, 200717 yr It does mean that we are getting closer. It probably still has to go through private beta testing and quality assurance. Still, that could be a while. But a good sign none the less!
July 19, 200717 yr It does mean that we are getting closer. It probably still has to go through private beta testing and quality assurance. Still, that could be a while. But a good sign none the less!It probably still has to go through private beta testing and quality assurance "YEP...?" ;) My late uncle once said top me... "When you can smell it coming off the press you know when it's ready...?"
July 20, 200717 yr It's going to be going through that beta testing obviously no matter what people think..The software was only probably updated because of the fact that the version of IP.Dynamic & Nexus on it were out of date, and if they wanted to upgrade the site, they most likely couldn't take any further steps so it didn't break.
July 20, 200717 yr Actually things would have continued just fine if they had not upgraded things. Obviously there are some inconveniences like "I wish it did this", even on the staff side... But nothing big enough to make it "we must upgrade now!".Clearly both products have been through beta testing and is stable enough for them to use it publicly on their site. They'll continue to use it on their side and iron out bugs, and they'll continue beta testing. This doesn't mean that we'll see it soon in any known time frame... The only thing that can be said from this is they are making good progress :).
July 20, 200717 yr Exactly as Luke said - nothing required us to update. It wasn't like the PayPal api suddenly stopped working or something and we HAD to update. It was just in the natural progression of the software development cycle. We were ready to update our site with the latest copy of the software.
July 20, 200717 yr I just assumed that no updater existed back when Dynamic was first updated(new content/skin aside) over a year ago according to public updates at least, so that when you guys did do an upgrade I was thinking it would be done manually.
