I discovered this lil issue during creation of a robots.txt file (case sensitive) where in order to function correctly i would need two entries...

Disallow: /forum/index.php?act=post
Disallow: /forum/index.php?act=Post

Not practical!

I think there are other occurances, i remember seeing UserCP and usercp somewhere.

Anyhow, it might only be a small suggestion/idea but they all count towards a better product!

P.S Do i get a prize for the most boring suggestion of the day week month year decade?

I think it would make sense for the urls to be consistent in this manor.

In addition, the logo and the navigation bar first link don't match, logo has index.php? and navigation bar has index.php?act=idx.

Yep that as well.

@Brandon/Matt: Since this is only a small "tidy-up" and not a feature as such (it borders on being a bug), is there any chance this can be fixed/implemented for an upcoming release?

I agree these are careless mistakes and should be fixed in a minor release or something. Anyways thanks for pointing those out I never really noticed but it makes sense, unless there is a reason behind it.

They aren't careless mistakes, all of IPB's acts were originally in uppercase.

Something I noted in my original post and edited because I couldn't confirm. I had said that IPB is in the middle of a restructuring on how it handles get values. Everything has been changing over the past few versions (ie 2.0 -> 2.1 -> 2.2) from up to lower-case, "do" instead of "CODE", and more. Give them some time to remove the legacy requirements for these mismatches and I'm sure it will be taken care of. :)

Maybe not careless, but they are certainly mistakes.

A quick hover over a page shows multiple instances of upper/lowercase URL's, it ain't a design feature.

@Digi : Good to hear, hopefully this can be tweaked in a bugfix version rather than a full release.

It hasn't slipped through - but with 10-20 skin files and over 1000 other files, it's also not a matter of just replacing them at will - it takes a lot of time to go through each and every file and do these updates. It will be done probably with the next major release. Squeezing some in here and there during minor updates is fine, but generally with minor updates we have other more important focuses.

You have no idea the damage we've done from time to time with mass find/replaces :whistle:
