This is a bit hard to explain, and if it already exists then please tell me how to apply it myself, as I havent seen it anywhere in the ACP....

Anyway, in the Bug tracker you have this:

untitled2copyrg8.jpg

Where people can choose several options to "categorize" a post (marked with red arrows).

I'd like to have something like that, but of course, being able to choose the options to categorize the post.

Does this already exist? Obviously it does here! How do I implement it myself?

Thanks!

Do you mean Categorising, or Tagging? With categorising, you'd have a set selection of options to choose from - something personally I'd consider pointless as you're categorising your post by the very action of posting it in a category. Tagging though, I could see that being sort of useful depending on the focus of your forum. I'd support some sort of tagging option (provided it can be turned on/off, preferably per forum or category).

PS. That categorisation is not a feature of IP.Board, and you cannot implement it simply by turning it on. That is the bug tracker, which uses separate database tables, separate files, and really shares only the skin system and kernel with IP.Board (nice component, though, no?).

Thanks for your replies!

English is not my native language so sometimes its very hard for me to find the words.

The feature I meant was just like the bug tracker in the form of using the scroll down to choose the version of invision the person is using.
In the screenshot, its the scroll entitled "VERSION".

What i wanted was to be able to set "tags" (? ) myself so people can choose when they post.

When the bug tracker is released (as said in the link bfarber posted), will the possibility to create tags other than the ones available be possible?

thanks :)

Yes, but only in the bug tracker itself - that will not change how the forums work. Depending on your needs, you may be able to use the bug tracker component for these areas instead however.

Thanks!!

I'll check it out when it comes out! :)
