Wrap attachment thumbnails to width of forum

I did some searches but didn't find this feature request. I did see it as a bug request, but the developers indicated it was functioning as designed.

I'm not happy with the way that 2.2.2 lines up multiple attachments. Because the default setting for attachment thumbnails is quite small, IBP sets the thumbs to line up in a row. They don't stack by default.

In older versions, attachments were like so:

[x]
[x]
[x]
[x]
[x]

In 2.2.2, they looks like so:

[x][x][x]
[x][x][x]
[x]

When the thumbs are larger, this causes the page to scroll left to right. The width of the page is completely disregarded.

Not everyone knows how to use the feature to insert the attachments INTO the post, and frankly, they shouldn't need to.

Can a fix be put in to force the attachments to stack on top of one another, or obey the forum width and wrap according to that?

I guess it would just depend on how large the images are. I mean, one could set it up so that the skin tiles attachments in the space it has available, then pushes down to the next row once the limit is reached. But if one image is just too large for the forum wrapper it will just destroy everything.

I'm all for improving on this though.

Well i guess i know how to insert attachments into posts but the board does just what it wants ... :devil:

so no matter what i do it just does this:

[x] [x]
[x] [x]
...

i didn't do anything in the code and there is plenty of space left when the post is rendered. in 2.1.7 the attachments obeyed my linebreaks and spaces. in 2.2.x they just don't and this is not a good thing. that makes whole posts look totally crappy. i was happy if i could have something like

[x] [x] [x] [x]
[x] [x] [x] [x]
...

but it's just not working and it makes absolutely no sense since there is enough space in the post itself as i said above.
