Just like we get warned in admin cp when there is a install folder,
admin should be alerted that there is an upgrade folder which needs to be renamed or
deleted too.

The upgrade script is password protected - you need to know an Admin CP username and password to access it. You don't with the installer - hence the message in the Admin CP.

Nope, the installer also asks for admin id n pwd.

How is that possible? When u install it, you dont have a username or password yet!

I have tried installing over already installed forum, but it gives an error.
So was just thinking if installer folder is present, how can it be used to overwrite
existing installed forum. One has to have empty db, n proper sql id n pwd n then only he can
make use of the installer. Or is there something that I am missing here. :wonders:

The installer creates a lock file to prevent you re-using the installer - however not all server configuration/permission settings allow this file to be created. So a warning was put in the Admin CP for these users.
