Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted November 2, 200618 yr Well in my forum I have this spoiler MOD ================================================================================ == Mod "Spoiler TAG" V 1.0.4 for Invision Power Board 2.1.x ================================================================================ == Originally programmed by: primetime Converted to IPB 2.0 by DarkWave Converted to IPB 2.1 by Artakus Big correction to IPB 2.1 by Thenab Class_bbcode_core correction by Cybero This acts like a quote tag except the content within won't be shown until you click "Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide..." and the content expand.Sample (I changed the above message to "Hidden..."It is convenient and can be used to hide everything: big pictures, big signatures and etc.So it has a lot of uses more tan just hide text that you want to have them shown instantly. What happened with spoiler tag included in 2.2? Just hightlight text with black color. CONTENT Not collapse so it has no use to shorten long content. And, sorry, it looks ugly.I can use this instead. (highlight to see )Spoiler: "CONTENT"If I use color: CONTENT No use with color. If I put picture: Can't hide it.It is no use at all. Furthermore if I use Spoiler tag by primetime is will cause conflict.Sorry but I just disappoint with this code. Some requests:- Spoiler tag can collapse and expand- Spoiler tag can nestslike the Quote tag - Spoiler tag can be inserted with everythings member can normaly post: all tags, links, emoticons, pictures, swf pages (if allowed), etc.Thank you.
November 2, 200618 yr I think I have to agreeHowever I'm sure once 2.2 final is out people will have alternate code we can use for the spoiler tag.
November 2, 200618 yr I also agree. Everything on IPS looks professional and well-thought of.The spoiler tag currently here is to simple and not IPS-worthy- remove the spoiler tag or replace it with a better one.
November 2, 200618 yr yep the spoiler tag from thenab is absolutely wonderfull, much more professional that the spoiler tag here.
November 2, 200618 yr The spoiler tag was a simple custom bbcode - you are free to remove it, alter it, or replace it at will. :) It's a very common implementation at that, and we did not want to modify source files for a spoiler tag (which many people won't want on their site when final is released).
November 2, 200618 yr Brandon is right.Besides - how often do we have to hide something anyways? I've been running and using forums for over six years and not once have I had to use the spoiler tag.
November 2, 200618 yr A hide feature like ocportal has would be coolIts just a little thing that hides the content of what over is in it by using bbcode.[hide]what you want hidden[/hide]Its a very nice feature. It works a lot like the collapse/close button on the right of the forums and stats.
November 2, 200618 yr There is already a topic here with a great spoiler code, given by strange_will.

November 3, 200618 yr I like this spoiler tag I found:http://www.ipsbeyond.com/forums/index.php?...ost&p=90156easy to edit the default one in 2.2 also

Barely anyone goes to the "Help" page so why not just make it very simple?
November 4, 200618 yr I just added this spoiler to RC3How bout this spoiler :) The following errors were found:The board administrator requires all members to log inWanna give us a test account to use to view your spoiler? O_o;Strange thing, I like Strange_Will's spoiler the most. :P

Is there a way we can do that? Or whats the coding we need to edit because I like that a lot better then the ugly black crap.

May 11, 200816 yr Thanks for your link to spoiler in your sigi strange_will :) I have given the link to your download page also in my foum, just replaced the default spoiler code and it works great. Hides even the smileys.http://onlinemedicalforum.com/forum/index....mp;#entry467141
