Posted October 28, 200618 yr Should I not revert and edit them by hand? Or should I revert? Or remove and wait for better skins?I've been beta testing on my SuSE test machine next to me, I realized that the update kills ALL the old skins. :P
October 28, 200618 yr Any details on the changes? These skins I've downloaded, so I don't know how much I need to change, if I can use macros, etc.
October 28, 200618 yr There will be skin changes? Or will there be better support for old skins?I'd rather be able to change skins, then when final comes out not deal with being skinless for a few weeks (because I'll probably suck very hard at it)Basically I guess I'm asking for a crash course in easy skin upgrades. :POf course I'm not touching my live board with ANYTHING but final.I'm doing ALL my testing on a non-live board, so I can make sure the transfer will be basically seamless :P

October 29, 200618 yr why wait til the final comes out? Designers like me who designed our own skins would like to have them ready by the time final comes out. so we can upgrade our boards.Personally, I would do just as you are - .Will says that to everyone who mentions doing anything with the RCs anyway. Even if there are changes between RC2/RC3 (whichever is last) and Final, at least you would not have too many changes to make. Which is to say, significantly less than if you had to make all changes after final is released.I've heard good things about Beyond Compare for establishing skin changes, perhaps you could give it a shot.
October 29, 200618 yr yeah but Its a release candidate. I seriously doubt there will be any more major skin changes before the release. We may have to wait for some skinning guides and such things though.
