Quick PM compose tab:There are 4 tabs in My Assistant pop-up: Information, New Posts, Search and Recent PMs. I suggest to make another tab named Quick PM compose so I can make a quick PM and send it to people.Why is Quick PM compose should be in My Assistant? Because it takes too long for a new page to be opened. I just prefer composing a new PM in a new small pop-up. This will make PM system function more like a Personal chat system.2. Quick Reply in Recent PMs tab:Make a Quick Reply link at the bottom of a PM in My Assistant-Recent PMs. When clicking on Quick Reply, it will forward to Quick PM compose tab with a quote of the original PM. The receiver nickname will be automatically filled in.3. Archive folder:I noticed that we have an option to creat more boxes aside from INBOX and SENT ITEMS. But I'd would like to have an ARCHIVE BOX already created for me:+ When receive a new PM, it will be saved in INBOX.+ In INBOX, you can select multiple PMs and click on ARCHIVE button to save/move all selected PM to ARCHIVE box.+ When viewing a PM, aside from REPLY, FORWARD, DELETE, we have an ARCHIVE option to save that PM to ARCHIVE box+ My assistant will only notify you UNREAD PMs in INBOX. Unread PMs in ARCHIVE BOX won't be notified to you.4. My Assistant Auto Refresh:Member can choose a refresh rate for My Assistant. That depends on how frequently you want the refresh rate to be.Which ever tab you are on, once My Assistant refresh, it will always update the Recent PMs.Admin can enable or disable this function to save CPU usage, or limit the refresh rate to a minimum of, say 3 secs, or 1 sec.This Auto Refresh will work beautifully with my intranet company, since we have around 50 computers and 2 servers, I think we can afford more CPU usages. The thing is, we don't like to use Yahoo Messenger or Google Talk or any of those IM applications because it is not secured, need internet connection and have a limitation in file upload.Invision PM system will provide us with one on one conversation, unlimited file upload/transfer (one on one basic), internet connection free. But to fully use all that functions, it will need to be upgraded as I described above. I know it will take lots of work but with little modification, this IPB forum will be more powerful. Do you know how much it costs to have a Microsoft Windows Sharepoint Portal ? Around $5,700, plus $70 for each client, and I don't even use all those functions. All I need is an intranet forum like IPB and a communication system that cost $200.Thanks in advance. Please let me know if you have the same thought. If we are talking about back in the day Assistant when it was a real window pop-up then yeah all of that can be done and then some. However now its a dhtml window and the frame itself is set into each page that has the link for My Assistant. To do lot of that would require lot more ajax work and lot more load time. If anything maybe make it a bit bigger of a window, height wise anyways, so that more of the pm can be read from the window. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I don't see a reason for a "fast reply" type system for pms and I definately don't see the point in viewing all pm folders and pms from that system. That isn't the role of my assistant, that is the role of the message system. My Assistant is to help you get notified of, and have quick access to, new things and FAQs or items.
