Dlf
No I am not doing this in my bathroom but I got these ideas in the bathroom. I have to go to bed so I cant' really explain in detail:Admin can change ACP INTRO pageAdmin can change what ACP shows is the version (IPB Version v2.2.0 Public Beta 1 (ID: 1))Admin can change board version # in ACP.I think I had more but my parents get 'cranckey' and angry when I don't go to bed by '11:20" PM or so when school is the next day. Sinistra
I know someone is going to post that this will be useless settings.-1 tho I think it would be to confusing
Mesmer
isn't it allready possible in 2.2.0 to hide your version-info and also to relocate your ACP?
Dlf
Hide the version #. I'm suggesting a way to 'change' it to show something like like 2.1.6, same for ACP. The ACP intro page also tells what version of the board you use. 2.1.0 (I think) gave it a new page intro, as did 2.2.
Guest
I'm failing to see what gain could come from this?

I would assume it would affect whether or not the software update prompt appears or not.

BAH!All right, why you need to change the string # (number) of your board? It will attract hackers more

Management Matt Posted October 3, 2006 Management Share Posted October 3, 2006 Did you wash your hands? All in all, I'd rather people just removed their version number if they don't want to show it. I don't see any value in pretending to be a different version.
