Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted September 26, 200618 yr I think it is wonderful that you can search the ACP features looking for a particular settings. However, I'd like to see this expanded slightly. Right now a search only shows the settings that match your search, but they don't tell you where that feature can be found (if you want to go to it directly later). I would like to see the search show the matching settings and allow you to click to see where the setting is located in the ACP. This would make it easier for new admins to learn the ACP and cut down on the number of searches needed to find features.
September 26, 200618 yr Ohh.. bonus points if the settings group listed is clickable to take you directly to that group/screen.
September 26, 200618 yr All I have to say is... It's about time!Ohh.. bonus points if the settings group listed is clickable to take you directly to that group/screen.That would be nice, but it doesn't look like it in the screen shot. Having it there at all is a rather helpful improvement!
September 27, 200618 yr Ohh.. bonus points if the settings group listed is clickable to take you directly to that group/screen.It creates a page with all the settings matching the criteria, as shown in Alex's post. These settings are all "live" and can be updated from this page, so it is a very powerful feature. I agree that it would be nice to have a reference showing where to locate the original group of settings. Also, keep in mind that you need at least four letters to produce a match (for instance, "RSS" and "CPU Saving" produce no matches), but all in all it's a great feature.
