Mat Barrie
HelloI don't understand. When we have a perpetual license and then we will have buisness, don't we have the right to have updates without if we pay each six monts ?ThanksSorry, I'm slightly confused. Perpetual licenses do not convert into any other type of license. Business is a new license which, if you get it, will require 6 monthly payments to get updates or support. Perpetual licenses still require payments for support, but not for updates - which are free. Your Perpetual license will still work, without you getting a brand new license. Same if you have lifetime.
Microo
HelloI don't understand. When we have a perpetual license and then we will have buisness, don't we have the right to have updates without if we pay each six monts ?ThanksIf you own a “Perpetual” license now, you won’t have to pay each 6 months to get the updates ECT… You will pay only if you need support, correct me if I’m wrong but I think the 25$/6 months is mostly for support; Right? So if I’m right about what I wrote above, and you don’t need any support you don’t have to pay each 6 months.sT7

Dark Phantom
Well now that's insane! I might get perpetual but don't have enough :(Why are you happy about $30/year for support, its cheaper to do everything yourself.
Microo
Why are you happy about $30/year for support, its cheaper to do everything yourself. It's not that I'm happy... It's just cheap for others... I'm happy about that Perpetual you get all updates for life... I personally won't need any support ;)
Andrew-T
The Perpetual is worth it. You'll get free upgrade and updates for life. But support is opitional.
UBERHOST.NET
Why are you happy about $30/year for support, its cheaper to do everything yourself.Right, it's cheaper to make all the mods that are exclusive to IPSbeyond, code the Download module yourself which can only be had at IPSb, and create skins of the quality that are available only through the official resource?I do mods and skins myself and do not require ticketing, but being part of the community at IPSb is well worth a dime a day (less than .9 cents actually). IPS has added a lot of value to yearly service, and it is worth it whether it is $30 yearly or $25 per six months IMHO.

Seriously? That's news to me. Wish someone would have told me about this sooner, I must have a couple of dozen mods with security issues in them. .Cameron
Well did you notice when you install some mods, and since IPB has security check? Well if you run a "deep scan check" it will be in dark orange, and the darkest orange files are those of the mods you uploaded or the files you edited
Microo
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that only checks to see if files has been edited. For all it knows, you could have easily added a chunk of worthless code that does absolutely nothing.Do some mods have security risks? Yes, I know of at least one that made MySQL Injection possible. Does that mean you should stereotype all mods in this manner? No.I know, my self I

Microo
You're right, you don't know how it works. That deep scan check just looks at various properties of the files to guess if something is amiss, it doesn't look at the code itself that is present in the files. Listen to .Cameron, just because one or two mods have security risks doesn't mean all mods have security risks. How in the world could someone exploit the Group Name Indicator mod, or Members Online Today? All they do is change something about the appearance of the board, they don't have any inputs that malicious users can exploit.I know that, As I already said my self I
