Will I be able to change the locale settings in IPB 2.2?I ask this because when I translate my board to Spanish the dates and that stuff remains in English, I also would like to see a better and easier language editor/manager. :)Cheers! Wilko Posted September 20, 2006 Share Posted September 20, 2006 The problem with that is it's done with PHP I think and PHP would output it in English, I'm not sure how you would get around that unless you can change the PHP language which would surely solve that? Although I don't affect me so I havn't really been paying attention to it. I did hear that some of the language files for the ACP are done, but it's not complete. However, I think that the language files will be the same (beta and final) so I can start translating them?When I upgrade with final, the non-english language files will not be updated with the new lines, right? And each upgrade all language files came with the new edit date even there was no change in it, so we must open each file to see if there were new strings.And my site is in utf-8 encoding, but there are a few place that I can not translate (Like Sun/Mon/Teu/Wed/Thu/Fri/Sat in Calender into 日/一/二/三/四/五/六), if I did, it became unrecognizable stings with several HTML symbols, I guess the stings here maybe difined as only single-byte charactor.I suggest IPS can make the IPB with only one language file, or all of IPB products share one language file while the 3rd party modifacation use another.
