Some Quick reply options

I do agree with one thing, that I would like the quoting to work with the fast reply, like if you click "reply" that it adds it to the text...or perhaps when you click reply, a menu similar to the edit button appears for quick or complete... but for the reply system.

If you know the

bbcodes

you can just type them.

Almost all posts I make on any forum I use the quick reply box.

Also if your not happy with how it is, you can modify it like MetalFrog and kewlceo did.

Same here, I rarely use the full reply, except when I want to just quote someone's post entirely, like I did here. IMO, the fast reply as it is right now is just fine, it's intended to be just what it says it is: a fast reply. If you want access to all of the stuff the full reply has, use the full reply. If you're not happy with that and just gotta have all the full reply stuff in your fast reply, use a mod to do that, that's the sort of things mods are best at.

Might be 'bloat' but just came up with idea:

  • User can choose what buttons they want for the fast-reply. Admin can also restrict some buttons from being choosen. They may also select the emotions they want to see.
  • Moderation option: Add what a moderator can do (normal add reply post), in quick-reply [drop down-box]. They may "also" choose what they want to see in the drop-down box.
  • If possible, have a option (for fast/add reply) to see your most selected buttons only.
Example for #3: I use bold and slanted the most, If I wanted (may also be a admin option), I can choose to only load those buttons when I (quick)reply.

Somewhat similar to Microsoft Word. It puts your most used functions (of word) first. (like
thinks so
).

It's amazing what I can think of. And i'm only a sophmore (spelling?) in High-school. Might also post this in the FR forum.
