Posted September 19, 200618 yr I really can't get over how great that is. Well done guys. I keep going back to check I didn't imagine it. :DAlthough does anyone else feel a bit stalked with the Last Visitors bit? :D
September 19, 200618 yr The profile page doesn't have a link to the members homepage on it. This needs to be fixed please...

September 19, 200618 yr Sorry but the profile page is now screaming Myspace. I know for my visitors they could care less about all the extrea stuff it now has. I'm just happen I can switch it to the old view as that looks much better. I don't see the need for comments on a profile. I mean thats just using up database space. If another member wants to send a comment to another memeber they can just make a topic or pm that member. Adding your friends to the profile view again is a myspace feature and I don't see how that is good for a forum. If it was a friend-sharing system like Myspace is ok sure. But this is IP.Board, if anything else it was a smart move to leave the switch option in.
September 19, 200618 yr I think that's been added because the forum system is actually the first type of social-networking. This logically the next step towards the forum system goal. Some will actually love this addition I myself have great ideas for this on other sites I might end up doing.
September 19, 200618 yr Ditto. Too "myspace" like for me. Meant more for teeny boppers. Is this page editable via the admin cp? i.e. so you could use a scaled back version and set what profile options you are interested in

September 19, 200618 yr I like the feature. It will come in handy for my forum, which is a gaming/social forum. Hopefully it can be shut off in the ACP for those that don't want it. :)
September 19, 200618 yr You can just shut it off and go to classic mode in the ACP.Yes it is very very "MySpace" look. More of a thing a mod should do, not IPB by default! Nice to see it can be disabled.
September 19, 200618 yr I like how recent posts show up in the middle, and how the blog/gallery is integrated. The profile page looks quite nice overall. Latest profile visitors is also a pretty good feature. However I think friends/comments won't get much use on my boards.Looks great though!
September 20, 200618 yr You can just shut it off and go to classic mode in the ACP.Thank goodness for that as my first impression was a MySpace look as well.
September 20, 200618 yr If your board is a friendly board, then it will be cool. If your board is a professional help board, then no, it would be a waste, and could actually make the board look "less" professional.Excellent job on making it switchable, just for those reasons.

Meant more for teeny boppers. Is this page editable via the admin cp? i.e. so you could use a scaled back version and set what profile options you are interested inIt's safe to say, that skinning is your friend. You simply remove some of the features you don't want from the template bits, and blam - they're gone. I know I'm likely to do this with a few of those bits on my own installation, as I use it for unofficial product support.
September 20, 200618 yr  Very nice. My members will absolutely love the new profile page.I agree, I think mine will love this too. As someone said earlier it depends on the content of your board. I see my members really enjoying these new features :)
September 20, 200618 yr I'm on top of the moon with excitement over the new profile feature! Yes as pointed out it's like My Space but thats what so many of us want because our forums are already communities and this is the next step to making that much more better & interactive! Why complain about this, as stated just turn it off if you don't want it used on your forum. AMAZING job to the IPB staff I can't wait to get this up 7 running for my community!
September 20, 200618 yr I can see many members on my board use this. How about adding the number of times a member's profile has been viewed, that would be nice along with who viewed it.

If IPB can integrate itself with this phenomenon, then so much the better, I say. :)
September 20, 200618 yr I love the way it bring a much more community feel to the forum. In all honesty it has encouraged me to become slightly more active that I previously have been. As long as we don't allow for music and CSS editing, long live IPBspace ;)
September 20, 200618 yr My members beg me to add a profile comments mod everytime I upgrade, so profile comments being a feature is much-welcomed. My site is just a social discussion site in nature so the overall portal will be very handy. :D
September 20, 200618 yr This will be great on my site as well. I've directed my staff to this site to look at the new features and they've been jumping up and down. (well, some. lol)Myr
