Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted March 12, 200618 yr I think the online/offline indicator that is shown in posts should be present in PMs! Silly that it is not.
March 12, 200618 yr So people in the PM system can see if the user is on-line or off-line. Similar to the mod at Invizion? Seems pointless.
March 12, 200618 yr It's not pointless at all, for the same reason it's in posts. When you get a new PM popup, you read it, and while reading you look to the side to see if the user is online. That's much more convenient than going back to the board index and looking at the online list. Why would you want to know if the user is online who just sent you a PM? Why not? Maybe so you know that if you reply you'll receive a response shortly, you'll know they'll get it right away as it's important since they are actively browsing. It's just one of those things that you like to know. Well, I do anyway.
March 12, 200618 yr It's not pointless at all, for the same reason it's in posts. Yes, I like the idea. If I login to a board and receive a PM, and in that PM there's an indicator telling me the sender is online, I'm going to be more apt to reply then and there instead of procrastinating.
March 13, 200618 yr Yes, I think this should be added in the interest of continuity. It appears in topics, the HTML is basically the same, so why not in PM's?
