Now days the industry of Instant Messaging systems is growing... I think It's time we add either the game based IM system that has MANY users called "xfire" to the profile information card and/or the new IM from google called Google Talk. Though this is just a small thing, i think it needs to be done :)

I think Skype would be something to have, GoogleTalk is too small yet.

Or maybe an option to add messengers, rather than having a bunch of default ones, ability to add ones you would like to have. Turn on/off.

Just remove all the messenger profile fields and let us add our own ones as custom fields

you can add your own messenger fields, get the googletalk messenger mod from invisionize.com and then just edit the code to to do whatever messenger you want. Its easy if you arent a tool :P

I do agree tho, this should be added in as default, you should be able to manage the messngers.... You should also be able to select which fields go on the registration page - that can also be done with a mod but its something that seems like it should be built in... plus, you cant make any of the fields required easily with the mod.
