Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Ace McKilty Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 [*]Add a built-in casche so birthdays show up all teh time at the bottom of the main page. As it is now, I have to update the cache every couple of days to get birthdays to show. [*]Sort Permission Masks alphabetically when viewing in the permission mask page or any combo box or pick list. [*]View members of a group. I'd love to be able to choose a user group and then see all members of the group from the Admin page. It would also be great to be able to select multiple members at one time and add them to a user group, rather than having to add each member separately. [*]Allow groups avatars to show for each group a member is a member of and not just the primary group. [*]Don't center the query box in the SQL Toolbox [*]Add ability to promote members based on length of membership instead of post count-- or in addition to. [*]Allow minimum-sized avatar restrictions. For example, allow admins to disallow avatars for being sized too small. IE - Avatars must be at least 80x80. [*]Allow admins to disable the use of certain BBCode in signatures. For instance if we did not want to allow the BBCode "IMG", but NOT disable fonts sizes, styles, colors, or URLs. [*]As an admin, I was under the impression I could add a poll to an existing topic at any time. Our users use to post movie reviews and I would go back weeks later and add a poll allowing users to rate the movie. Now I can't do that. So I'd like that to be a feature again.
bfarber Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006  1) You can add a reply to a topic, and add a poll that way. 2) Birthday's are cached. There is a task called " Birthday and Events Cache" that runs every day at 12 oclock, so as long as your site has enough traffic that it is hit once a day after that time, the cache will automatically be rebuilt. 4) Clicking a group name on the manage group page allows you to see all members in that group. 5) This would get VERY tedious for sites that have members in, for example, 4 groups.....probably not going to look very clean

It may have been different at one time, but this makes sense. 2 - We get plenty of traffic so this must just be malfunctioning for us. I verified that the task was enabled and checked the log. It last ran October 24th. I tried to "run task now" and got this error:mySQL query error: UPDATE ibf_task_manager SET task_next_run=1142066580,task_locked=1142023329 WHERE task_id=8 SQL error: Unknown column 'task_locked' in 'field list' SQL error code: Date: Friday 10th of March 2006 12:42:09 PM 4 - Ah... very helpful, thanks. 5 - True, it could be a mess on some sites, but it could be made as an option and the admins could choose to turn it on or off. A group could also have an option to show for primary only or for primary and secondary. Not every group would have to have an avatar. Maybe the members list would continue to show just the primary, but when the member posted it could show all the group avatars under their name as it does for the primary now.EDIT: It turns out that October 24th was when IPB installed versions 2.1.1 and 2.1.2 on our site. I'll have the site owner contact service.
bfarber Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Yes, submit a ticket about the task manager error, sounds like the db table was not updated.
Ace McKilty Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Actually, on number 4, it appears that only the primary members of that group appear. Members who have that as a secondary group are not shown.
bfarber Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Yes, the memberlist only shows your primary member group.
Mark Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 3, I would like to see, as that is how they are arranged when setting out permissions 4 - Instead of redirecting you to the member list, couldn't you list all members of that group in manage members. For example, I can bring up all members in one group by doing ACP-->Management-->Manage Members --> Is in group... But how about, I can also bring up the list by going to: ACP --> Management --> Manage User Groups --> Click the usergroup title. 7 - Would like to see 9 - Would like to see group control over BBCode in addition too. For example, I have an iFrame BBCode, I really only want to give my mods the permission to use that.
