Oleg Rodnin
What aboit adding link prefetching to IPB ?! In short, it is background loading of "next" page after loading current page. Applicable to multipage topic listings and topics with many posts. It can be helpful for a) slow connection users b) slow sites. In some cases overal server loading can will be increased, but for users pages will be loaded/switched more faster. Many of internet surfers already uses similar technology : after opening first page, them opens next in new browser windows or tabs, safely reading first page during background-like loading of next opened. kamasheto
They use it on Google.com because when you search for something, you only click ONE of the results. Don't see where that could intergrate with IPB. Except that ofcourse it could be used if you mean auto-loading the first 10 or so topics in a forum (and ofcourse the first couple of replies as well).. Plus the fact that IE doesn't support that one tag. Hmm.. might be worth it, but will increase the load of the server TREMENDOUSLY!
andyjamison
probably be best for people with a dedicated server for their site. Shared Servers would definately meet the persons bandwidth cap if they have an active board
