kissybissy
Do we have to pay a license to use IPB when IPS hosts our board. in this case we need to pay a fee of starting from US 10,00.
.John.
You get free use of an encoded version of IPB for the duration of your use of IPS Hosting.
kissybissy
What does it mean? is it the new 2.1.3 version?
UBERHOST.NET
What does it mean? is it the new 2.1.3 version? Yes, you'll always have the most updated forum software, but being "encoded" it means that you can't alter the source files. In other words, there are a lot of mods that you won't be able to use. kissybissy
one more question. I do have an invision board hosted on a free service. it uses the version 1.3, but modified to fit their service. if I get a back-up of my forum, does Invisionservice convert my board to the new version, even having my board hosted by invision service? I hope you can understand what I mean. if I buy an invisionboard hosted by invision services, I won't need to worry about installation, but then I would need to "insert" - I don't know the right for it - the back up in the new board - which includes, all the posts, members, etc - will invision free do it for me?. I'm not a computer expert and I would probably have a hard time if I had to do it on my own. thanks in advance.
.John.
No, the free host converts it to standard format (for a charge) - and then you import that database - and upload all the files, and go to http://www.domain.com/forums/upgrade/upgrade.php :)
