December 19, 200519 yr Yes, that's right, a flawless installation like the other forums you get for free. Works perfectly fine for me. By the way you present yourself, it sounds like your not a customer, who wants to put money down on that one
December 19, 200519 yr I think you should read Simon's problem in Customer-Customer Assistance. The fact is, there is a flaw in the v2.1.3 install & upgrade scripts which means that they spot a CHMOD problem which prevents skins caching, but fail to report this to users and apparently the installation succeeds. I have raised a bug report about this and it has been accepted.
December 19, 200519 yr I think you should read Simon's problem in Customer-Customer Assistance. Thanks rct2dotcom. Your comment in my other forum fixed it for me, looks like I had to go deep into each folder and manually CHMOD each file. And to the person above, I paid for the forum and was simply dissapointed in all the trouble I had to go through to get it working as intended, something I did not expect from a paid product.
December 20, 200519 yr Installations are Flawless :) Now that's not true; all things are susceptible to flaws, even (yes, get this) IPB. ;)
December 20, 200519 yr Agreed, but when scripts KNOW there is a problem (especially installation scripts) but plow on regardless, and give the impression at the end that they have completed successfully, that cannot be good can it?
December 20, 200519 yr Agreed, but when scripts KNOW there is a problem (especially installation scripts) but plow on regardless, and give the impression at the end that they have completed successfully, that cannot be good can it? That's something that I really hate, something goes wrong and it says everything succeeded flawlessly.
December 20, 200519 yr Well to be fair it DOES say there was a problem, but it flashes it up in the redirect screen as you move onto the next upgrade script, so you don't see it.
December 22, 200519 yr Does anyone know what problems it will cause for those who didn't see the error message?
December 22, 200519 yr I had a bit of a rant about this at http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?...6&bug_cat_id=12 I describe some cases where failure will occur, and the symptoms afterwards.
