mcretan Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 As an IPB Oracle customer, I just thought that you guys might also be interested to know that Oracle will (in the next month or so) be releasing a free version (including royalty free distribution) called Oracle XE. Its limited to a 4GB database size (that's a lot of posts), 1GB of memory and 1 CPU. From what I have read about the inclusions/exclusions IPB should run on it without modification (Oracle Text - aka CTX is included). I'm not wanting to start the whole oracle vs mssql vs mysql thing again, but for those of your customers comfortable with Oracle - it might be a good way to go  Cheers, Mike
Coastie Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I'm not wanting to start the whole oracle vs mssql vs mysql thing again,... I'd like to see those tests on the same hardware ;) But who has just 1CPU and 1GB of ram any more >_<
