Tedy Posted November 12, 2005 Share Posted November 12, 2005 Since a few months, we have some topics spammed by robots (yes, guests are allowed to reply). Every night, the same reply is posted with the same content, here's an example :<h1>You can also check some relevant information about<A HREF="h***p://www.spanish-ca***-4u.com/online-casino***.html"> tips </A> . </h1> And I'm sure the number of spamming bots is increasing. Just have a look on this Google Search to find hundreads of spammed IPB forums !!! For the moment, all we can do to prevent such spam is to add this url in Badword filters so the url is not displayed, but we still have to delete those messages ! Here is my suggestion : in Manage Badword Filters, add create a new method "Refuse the post" : Instead of censuring the bad word, any post which contains a such word would simply not be posted. I'm sure we could avoid 99% of topic spamming with a such method ! Another solution would be to create an option to enable a flood protection code for usergroups, like on the registration page, when posting a message.
