Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted September 27, 200519 yr We have a special group on our board for new members. They are part of this group until they have 10 posts. The reason for this group is to restrict the use of the PM system to curb spamming (we have a problem with real estate people, etc.) but the problem we have with this restriction is that moderators and admins can't PM that person. Would it be possible to have the ability to restrict PM *EXCEPT* to/from moderators/admins on the site? Thanks!
September 29, 200519 yr I tried a mod I found and it didn't work. So I just use e mail to contact the new members and vice versa.
September 29, 200519 yr I recall a mod for this for 2.0 ... go to Invisionize and see if someone is going to update it. I have it installed on my board and like the functionality it provides (obviously I have not upgraded to 2.1 yet) ... having this built in would be nice, I do agree. Keith
September 29, 200519 yr this is a group option in 2.1.1 just make a group called Trial Members have them not use PM and have them get promoted to Members after 10 posts
September 29, 200519 yr Why not give those new mods and admins 10 posts to start off with, simple edit their number of posts... :) Ted.
October 5, 200519 yr Why not give those new mods and admins 10 posts to start off with, simple edit their number of posts... :) Ted. This defeats the entire purpose! I don't want new members with 0-9 posts to be able to PM/e-mail except back and forth with admins and moderators.
