• Jay • Posted December 8, 2004 Share Posted December 8, 2004 Currently, if you restrict a member's ability to read posts in a forum, you are unable to allow them to start topics in that forum, regardless of their permission settings. It would be helpful at a couple boards that I administrate if it were possible to allow members to start a topic in a forum that they can view but have no read access to (even if it prevents them from reading their own topic - but ideally they could read the topic that they posted just as a courtesy). I use it for a "Banned Users" forum... which is the only forum that appears if you are banned ;) basically... a User goes into the forum and can start a topic and view that topic and reply to it, but they cannot see other people's topics or reply to other people's topics...
