I've been getting internal server errors for the last few months whenever the site gets busy normally. The server isn't overloaded but this is the error in logs 2023/01/10 21:20:49 [alert] 127868#127868: *28491671 socket() failed (24: Too many open files) while connecting to upstream My hosts don't seem to know and have increased the open files limit to a high amount but it still happening and now just pointing me in your direction to ask how you handle traffic as I've got 167 children spawning which may be causing too many open files? But this was happening at 1am in the morning when the site wasn't busy. Any ideas?

Hi, Im looking to purchase & set up a self hosted Forum. Im running the self hosted compatibility checker & have a error : Your PHP memory limit is too low. It needs to be set to 128M or more. My Hosting people added a PHP.ini file to my server root : safe_mode = off; max_execution_time = 100; max_input_time = 120; allow_url_fopen = On; memory_limit = 512M; post_max_size = 512M; upload_max_filesize = 512M; max_input_vars = 3000M; but im still displaying the same error on the ips4 page : https://www.hardscore.com/RDBforum/ips4.php It would be great if someone could advise what could be the problem. Hi, My website is behinds Load balancer. Currently SSL is installed on all web-servers. We tried to install SSL on LB but it didn't work. We install SSL certificate on LB and removed certificate from webservers. it was throwing error ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS. Then we changed Base URL (in conf_global.php) https:// to http:// Now website is loading over https but without images and css/js as this is taking http path from conf_global. How can we install SSL on LB and where to change path for images/css/js ? FYI, We have 3 webservers, 1 File Server and 2 Database servers.

Hi all, I'm trying to move a website that has been sold to be, it has Invision Board running (license in the previous owner still). I'm getting this error: "We're sorry, but a temporary technical error has occurred which means we cannot display this site right now." I'm trying to enable debug to see the cause of the error. I've done \define( 'IN_DEV', TRUE ); In constants.php but it did not change anything. How can I enable debug mode so that I can see the error? Thanks Alex

HI If I approve a Paypal payout in the ACP while having define( 'NEXUS_TEST_GATEWAYS', true ); in my constants file, will the payment send? If I'm using Cloudflare what SSL do I need on my server? Previous to using Cloudflare I bought one from RapidSSL which is still active but expiring soon, I'm wondering would a free LetsEncrypt be enough considering its going through Cloudflare too now? Or does a paid one still have benefits?

Hello, I'm using the default "Twitter Timeline" block on my board. I have both bright and dark styles installed into my forums. The issue I have is that when using the dark theme, the background of this block is still white and way too bright, which is quite uncomfortable for the users. Is it possible to set: light color skin of the "Twitter Timeline" for the bright board theme and similarly dark for a dark the one? Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Hello, I want to upgrede to latest version however when I select php8 or above from my hosting I cant access forum or admin panel. It gives only balnk pages. How can I fix that? I have another forum I succesfully upgrade with php8 on the same server but this installation gives me a problem.

Hello, I am using an Activity Stream among a few other blocks on my board. On a PC, those blocks are positioned on the right side of the board. However, while I am scrolling on a mobile, they're being shown last after the forums list. I would like to show first the Activity Stream and then the list of forums on the mobile. How can I do that? Have never used advertising before, but when going through the settings, I saw an advertising setting in Site Promotion that seemed fairly simple. So I wanted to just test it and see if it's viable. I set up a single image to show. I set only admin to see it while I test. Added a simple image. But no matter what I do, I don't see any image anywhere, in any of the places I set it to appear. Have tried multiple times. Can't see anything wrong with what I am doing, so wanted to ask if there is something I need to know, or how to troubleshoot? Anyone using it that can give any advice? I haven't tried showing to any other groups, but surely showing to admin should work? …

Hello, After weeks of testing, I am about to finally make my board live to the public. I will have to move it to another server and under new domain. I would like to ask here first though to avoid problems in the future. Steps I am planning to do: Moving files from public_html to its destination on another server. Changing domain name in the IPS Client Area. Changing domain name in the conf_global.php. And thats it? Should I also change some fields in the database? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I'm thinking of purchasing a 2nd license with Blogs and Gallery and I have a XenForo site that posts everything that is posted on the forum onto Twitter thanks to this app: https://xenforo.com/community/resources/dbtech-tweet-poster.6375/ I wanted to see if IPS had an equivalent and I found https://invisioncommunity.com/files/file/9250-20-off-automatic-social-promotion-black-friday/ But that app has not been updated since 2020. Is Automatic posting now part of IPS native or is there another plugin I need, because I remember a few years ago I was a Moderator in a forum and I had to manually post each forum post to Twitter.

When attempting to update a plugin via the marketplace, it fails and I get the following in the system log: Cannot extract "Application.php" to "/home/public/applications/form/Application.php", setting file permissions failed Is this caused by the apache user account attempting to run chmod or a similar command on Application.php? Permissions on the existing Application.php file are 775, so it shouldn't be an issue with writing the actual file. Is this caused by the apache user attempting to run chmod on the Application.php file and then throwing an exception because it doesn't have permissions or is there another issue here?
