When you increase the level warning of a user, the user receives the PM where you write the reason, an link to the post from where he was warned, and a quote with his reply something like Original Post: http://link-to-the-post

Tabbed forum
by Guest newbies- 8 replies
- 2.4k views
I would like to have a tabbed forum like what this forum program provides http://www.cjsdn.net/post/page?bid=1&sty=1&age=0 The tabs could be subforums or just special containers where moderators can put selected threads (best topics, questions waiting for answers, etc.). The main tab will display all threads contained in every sub-tabs. When users make posting, they will be allowed to choose which subforum their posts belong to using a dropdown menu.

I haven't been on these forums in a while, but can someone tell me how to get my account into the "Customers" group? Does the email in my client area need to match the one with this account on these forums?

As it works now, if you are copied on a PM, you cannot see the recipient. You might even not be able to tell if you are the recipient or just CC'ed.. (If the "Hide CC..." was used). Suggest that it should work as normal email. And the "Hide CC recipients from others?" field should select to use BCC. Today it just hides the CC's from the recipients view.

Hello from new user

I am a new ipb user and I would like to say hello to everyone. And at the same time I would like to profit from the opportunity to thank the ipb staff once again for their fast help and professional support that I have received so far every time that I had opened a Support Ticket at the Client Area. Thank you, it is much appreciated. :) My feedback and opinion about the ipb software is very positive. Ipb is a very powerful software, I have switched to it from another forum software and I gotta say, I am very happy with myself that I did so and I will never look back. I love the plenty options and features that it has to offer, for both sides, as an administrator and as…

Warning of posts since clicking "Add reply"
by Guest Mark- 3 replies
- 1.2k views
I'd like to see a feature that warns you when you submit a post if any posts have been made since you started typing your post. (To avoid those "Edit: <user> beat me to it" posts) It could just pass the ID of the latest post in the thread when going to the post screen, and then when making the post check if that ID is one less than the ID it's going to give the post you just made. If it isn't, it displays the post screen again with all the posts made in between. For example: TOPIC - Post 1 - Post 2 - Post 3 You click "Add reply", the number 3 is stored as a get or post variable. While typing your reply someone adds Post 4 and 5. When you submit your p…

Just thought I'd let you know all the Nexus modules have a license agreement when you go to download it except the hosting one.

Hello I know that it is possible to set up an automated email response to all board members when a new topic is posted in any forum. Would it be possible to have this function available for individual forums and not just all forums. Regards Brian

64-bits
by Guest Klingon2008- 3 replies

Is there any 64-bit compiled version of IPB ? I'd like to have an option to install a 64-bit version of IPB on a 64-bit version of PHP. We will run IPB on a ultra-fast server (8 cores, 16GB RAM, SCSI Ultra320 with RAID10 and Win2003/SQL Server 2005 64-bits), but even having 64-bit IIS and 64-bit ASP.NET, we are forced to run IPB/PHP on 32-bit compatibility mode. A 64-bit version of both would help to improve performance - and a IPB.NET would be even better :P BTW if someone else runs IPB on Windows server, take a look at FastCGI: Turbo-charge your PHP applications with the FastCGI http://blogs.iis.net/iisnews/archive/2007/1/31/1599359.aspx Performance tuning PHP 5.2 …

Safari Error
by elj- 0 replies
- 1.7k views
I've been getting this fairly often when browsing topics on here over the last few days. Is it an error on the site or an error with my internet connection? Generally I have to wait a few minutes and it starts working again if I go back to the forum index page. Safari can’t open the page. Safari can’t open the page “http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?showtopic=267613”. The error was: “bad server response” (NSURLErrorDomain:-1011) If it's an error with my internet, I'll go away quietly. Just wanted to see if there was anything wrong with the server the forum was on or something related. Thanks. :)

IPS Resources
by Guest DustinRyan- 18 replies

I just wanted to post my opinion on the relaunch of IPS Beyond...aka IPS Resources. I really like how the resources are all combined now with the IPS website and forums. Before things were a little confusing to people if they were new to the IPS community in having the corporate forums, AND IPS Beyond. Now everything is centralized, and more appealing. One thing I would like to see is a Resources link in the top navigation on www.invisionpower.com I think that would make things more official and bring more traffic to the new and improved resources area. Although now I have two accounts on here, my original account I made long ago when I bought my license, as well as…

Suggestions
by Guest 2000- 10 replies

I have some suggestions and question if they will be implemented: 1. Threaded and hybrid views added similar to those of vBulletin. 2. Each post to include the parent message's author in format [Re: User] (like in UBB threads) and also the parent post's number [Re: User (#X)]. 3. One column for posts like vBulletin. 4. More page numbers for navigation, not only 3 and an option to view all messages in a thread. 5. Larger font, Arial, for thread titles, not underlined. Different colors for visited and not visited links. 6. Reply link to each post without quoting. 7. Simple small images or text links for "reply", "quote" etc. to improve navigation and speed. 8. Click…

Two Suggestions
by Guest Nightstick- 2 replies

Calendar Subscriptions--Give members the ability to be notified about new calendar events. Better yet, give them the ability to get notified about new events within a given time/date period. Give administrators the ability to cancel all of a specific member's notifications/subscriptions through the control panel. It is cumbersome for me to have to do this through SQL statements when I get bounced emails from a member who disappeared. I apologize if the above suggestions have been made already.

Needing to start a new forum
by Guest Rights Fghter- 3 replies

Hi I have tried to email this query to both addresses (sales and billing) on the Home page of IP but both emails bounced. I am looking to start up an online forum supporting prisoners protesting their innocence. Specifically I am looking for one that people who are not registered within the community cannot read or post - in fact cannot gain access to unless granted permission. I am moderating on a board at present that has been hacked. We believe that this is an ex member who as it has transpired is not as innocent as he would have us believe. As a group supporting prisoners and those coming up to trial we have to be seen as "squeaky clean" as well as only wishing …
