Hey, I don't know if you ever read articles on medium.com, but they are an absolute pleasure to the eye. They respect many typographic principles … especially the line length (characters per line). Secondly its “the big web“ approach in webdesign (bigger elements). While the latter may be hard to implement in an conservative bulletin board, I guess the never ending lines on the board layout can be changed in the next major version? Example: https://medium.com/better-humans/271ae5edf93e Some further articles on the subject: - http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2013/05/17/typographic-design-patterns-practices-case-study-2013/ - http://webdesign.tutsp…

On our forum, members like to create new topics / posts that can be quite intensive, with lots of evidence and so forth. Currently they have no way to save the post as a draft, I currently recommend members to do 2 things, first, create the post within word or similar and save it to somewhere such as google docs and when ready, simply copy and paste to create topic/post. The second option, is allowing members to make post and then hide it until a later date, this allows them to edit the post until such times as it is ready and hidden from everyone apart from moderators and admins. Both are extremely unpractical. I know this has been requested on numerous occasions…

My IPB Forums do not show who's online and how many views a topic gets, is there any reason why its doing that? Any help would be appreciated.

OK, maybe is little soon, but I heard something that new features will be included in 3.1.0 version. My first suggestion: This could by unavailable to guests. They really do not need to know what are regular members doing on board and we save some queries.

Know you guys are pretty busy. In your thoughts, maybe someday, you might think about butting several buttons in the same table as a post. The same table you are reading, like this one. Have three buttons so I don't have to go back out from the post I'm reading: Previous, Next, Start New....all refereeing to posts by the user. Just a thought. Graphic enclosed. Thanks.

Because this has been asked over and over and over again, and we really don't need any more of these topics in our feature suggestions forum, I'm posting this one pinned topic so everyone can see it. Q: When will IPB3 be released? A: IPB3 is expected to be released, in final version, by Q4 (that means, before December 31, 2008). Source: http://forums.invisionpower.com/blog/ips_n...?showentry=2332 Q: What features will IPB3 have? A: Any features we've been authorized by management to discuss will be posted in our blog. We will be posting regular updates, and intend to start putting out updates a bit quicker in our blog shortly, but if it hasn't been announced there,…

I can't stress how important it is for IPB to update their URL structure to today's standards. The current URLs are redundant, confusing and bordering on anti-SEO. According to Google's own SEO guide written 4 years ago, webmasters are urged to maintain a logical hierarchy and avoid using unnecessary characters in URLs: "Create a naturally flowing hierarchy" "[...] effectively work these into your internal link structure" "Google is good at crawling all types of URL structures, even if they're quite complex, but spending the time to make your URLs as simple as possible for both users and search engines can help" "A site's URL structure should be as simple as possibl…

First of all, sorry for the semi-duplicate post, but this is the most sensible place to post this poll, so if you need to close off one of these topics, please close the other one. Thank u :D The reputation mod seems to be extremely popular, but also rather complex and/or time consuming to install. It also involves a lot of changes to a standard board, and for this reason, a lot of people (including myself) are going to rather put off by it, although we do still think it's a brilliant idea! I have suggested to IPS that they include it in the standard product, but they have said it's better suited to a mod due to not everybody wanting such a feature. See suggestion h…

Remove "Powered by Invision Board" from the first page title 1 2 3
by Guest Joannes Vermorel- 74 replies

I completely understand the need for for Invision to advertize its own product. I have nothing against a discrete "Powered by Invision" link at the bottom of the page. Yet, on the first page of the forum the HTML title gets polluted by a lengthy "Powered by Invision Board". Frankly, I think this behavior hurts the user experience; and in the same time discourage potential webmasters from going to IP.Board. The webmaster is not going to think "aha, this is an IP.Board"; he is simply going to think "argh, will I get such an ugly Invision label on top of my web pages too?". Then, for the average visitor (who do not care about IP.Board, because he has no clue about the techn…

In our spirit of keeping everyone up to date, this topic will serve as a running list of what's new in IP.Board 3.2.0. As we make changes we will update this topic so check back now and then. This is not yet a complete list as we are still making changes, adding new features, and doing other work. If you don't see what you're looking for here just yet please check back later! As always with IPS, everything listed here is not part of a "possible" roadmap. We will only post items on this list when they are 100% complete and included in IP.Board 3.2.0 so you can trust that what we post in public is what you will get. Hey! Fantastic news about Invision 3.0 developments!...I'm absolutely over the moon that you are including Search Engine Friendly URL's as standard. Absolutely fantastic. It will be very interested to see what else you have planned, and if any suggestions members have made will be taken on board. Much like you have done for previous versions of IPS Products, are you planning Video Previews over the coming weeks/months? :) Just to keep us salivating.. :D

[FEEDBACK] Logging on 1 2 3 4

I still have to keep logging on here, and this is not the first time I have brought it up. Will someone from IPS please explain to those of us affected by this exactly why? I am SO glad I haven't upgraded to 2.2, there is no way I am going to subject my members to this! :( PS: Don't tell me to delete cookies, wipe out temp files, or anything else my end ... none of it works.

I opened this topic in order to make a list of features removed from version 3.1.4., in the new version 3.2 I hate this because 3.1.4 has some features that are very useful and now we have to find hooks doing those. One of this is status online/offline of the members in topics. You can find the hook here Everyone can contribut to this list.
